A very famous squadron. The jets that inspired much of the film Top Gun.
While on deployment in the Mediterranean on August 19, 1981, during a routine combat air patrol mission over the Gulf of Sidra, two Libyan Su-22 "Fitter" aircraft were shot down by squadron aircraft. The incident marked the first Navy air combat confrontation since the Vietnam War and the first ever for the F-14A Tomcat. It was the first time a variable wing geometry aircraft shot down another variable wing geometry aircraft. 1981 was also the first year in which the squadron won the COMNAVAIRLANT Battle Efficiency "E", signifying them as the most efficient squadron in the Atlantic Fleet. VF-41 was also awarded the Battle "E" in 1985 and 1989.
I have included a picture of the real jet involved in the real-life SU-22 shoot down in the gallery.

To install: Go to you DLC packs in OIV, navigate to the F14a folder and the Tomcat.rpf. Then click the edit button on the top right in OIV and then open the f14a.ytd. Select a livery that you do not care for and click replace, replace it with this one, click save.

good job :), i go to make my project, top gun :) (1 f14 ll taking off before u and ll folow u, 5 f-5 "mig" ll taking off from zancudo in ur direction for interception)
In same time i ll do a new update map carrier with inspiration Bf3 (ennemies : su 33 and in future mig 35)

@DarthPungz do you have the flight suit that's shown on the first screenshot? It has the emblems on the arms. Have you thought about making a F-15E Strike Eagle RAF Lakenheath skin, tailcode LN?

@DarthPungz ah that's excellent. I am looking forward to them. What are they as of now as in the percentage of the progress? Will we ever see the correct flight helmet in Grand Theft Auto V I know we have the flight suit and helmet and Oxygen mask but I was thinking more of a realistic one with the JHMCS (Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System).
@Racer11 I have made a green and tan version of an accurate 144th Cali ANG (F-15C), USMC VMFAT-501 (F-35B), and USAF Test Pilot (F-16 Vista is green I think, tan is not program specific I think. I have also made a Maverick Top Gun suit and two different NASA Blue Flight Suits. I still want to make a F-117, F-22, and a couple of others. @Westcoastsosa has been a huge help by donating his modelling skills so that this flight suit that was for the MP is now rigged to fit the main three SP characters. He is also doing bump maps to raise the patch work so that it looks more realistic. Huge thanks to him!!!
@SkylineGTRFreak may be bringing us a new helmet (fingers crossed)
I would die to have this skin in the game but the model that used for this re-texture is gone or taken down for some reason.....
