The read me does tell you what to do but its not written in the most clear way so...
INSTALLATION: Step 1. Make sure you are downloading the current version of the mod on the left of this page.
Step 2 Understand if you are playing Legacy or Enhanced
Step 3. Extract the RAR / Zip file you just downloaded.
Step 4. Open the new extracted folder.
Step 5. Copy TrainerV.asi to the games root directory (Where gtav.exe lives)
Step 6. Open the windows start menu
Step 6. In the start menu search bar type in %appdata% and hit enter
Step 7. This should have brought you to %appdata%/roaming
Step 8. Check in this folder to see if you have a Trainerv folder: If you don’t, make one.
Step 9 For LEGACY Players, Open the Trainerv Folder and make sure you have a Legacy folder, If you don’t, make one.
Step 9. For ENHANCED players, Open the Trainerv Folder and make sure you have an enhanced folder, if you don’t, make one.
Step 10 From the extracted mod folder (the one you downloaded and extracted in step 4) copy Trainerv.ini
Step 11 For LEGACY players, Paste trainerv.ini into the %appdata%/ roaming/ trainerv/legacy folder
Step 11 for ENHANCED players, Paste trainer.ini into the %appdata%/roaming/trainer/enhanced folder
Step 12. Close all windows explorer windows
Step 13. In the windows start menu search box, type in power shell (DO NOT HIT ENTER)
Step 14. Hover over the powershell then to the right of it and select run as administrator
Step 15. Copy this : Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath $env:APPDATA"\trainerv"
Step 16. Paste that into the powershell window and hit enter. No error should appear, it should just move the cursor to the next line with out any complaints. Close the power shell window.
Step 17. Run the game (if you are using openiv for other mods, open the game through openiv, if you are using nexus mods, make sure you deploy your other mods and run the game)
Step 18. Go into story mode
Step 19 Once you are fully loaded into the game press f3
Step 20. Use your keypad to navigate the menu (NOT THE NUMBERS AT THE TOP OF THE KEY BOARD the numbers off to the right hand side. IF THIS IS NOT WORKING, press numblock and try again. 8= up 4 = left 2 – down 6= right 5 = enter 0=go back
Menus might show up as 2 columns on the same options page, press 2 on the keypad to navigate to the right hand column, press 6 to go to the next page of options.
step 21. Enjoy!
(note: If you are using any other type of antivirus outside of windows defender, you will have to add This mod as an exception. In your antivirus, add an exception to %appdata%/roaming/trainerv )
You also need to make sure you have Scripthook v properly installed.
To quote the readme for this mod "In addition you will need the scripthookv.dll (the scripthook) and dinput8.dll (the asi loader) on legacy, or scripthookv.dll and xinput1_4.dll on enhanced, both go into the game root directory and both can be obtained via:
