Crikey, this should surely be listed under the 'weapons' category, no?! Haha! I'm pleased to see the moderator concur that this is indeed just a meme and not racist; people are generally far too quick to play the "racist" trump card (or the "racist Trump" card) nowadays.
Jesus Christ, another ped mod! Just kidding, haha! But really, I keep asking myself, "what will they think of next?"
@Domazaz It's really simple but perhaps, like me, you forgot to copy the CUSTOMKEYS file from Grand Theft Auto V\THEAETIK to Grand Theft Auto V\THEAETIK\XComplexControl. Until you put the file there, your controls stay at default. Also, I find numpad 0 is a good key to assign to cover - it's near the directional controls and is a nice big key to hit when you desperately need cover!
@THEAETIK Thanks again for your earlier reply. I reckon it's some other aspect like .NET rather than your script as you say; however, I've played up to one hour-long sessions for the past 2-3 days with v2.4 and no crashes. V2.4 did still freeze sometimes before but for me it is more stable than v2.5. I cannot think what might cause it (I'm running with a clean install, all other scripts removed). Anyway, I'm still having a blast, literally - another highlight was shooting a helicopter out of the sky with incendiary bullets, watching it slam into 2 parked vehicles below as a third vehicle spun out of control before hitting the gas station! :-D
I'll give you 5* just for your amusing introduction! But this looks amazing in its own right, and also because I am now thinking, Mario Kart anyone? Haha! I see a Mario Kart mini-game somewhere on the horizon...
@THEAETIK Again showing my love for your mod (it's no secret!) but also to report a potential bug: with v2.5, I have a crash (e.g., GTA 5 freezes but sound continues) about once every 30-45 minutes, or about once every 4-5 games. Because I have reverted to v2.4, my logs are now useless because they reflect use of v2.4; however, I will run v2.5 again later and send you my logs if it crashes. I have removed all other scripts to use this mod per your advice. v2.4 provides the best stability for me, but perhaps the root cause is a problem on my side.
Oh and by the way, one of my highlights so far is blasting a helicopter out of the sky as a pink, leather-clad woman wearing a ski mask at the oil refinery - this kill was part of an 8x streak (explosive bullets are a game-changer!) and ended with 4 (yes, 4!) gas containers exploding one after the other, showering me and the remaining players with bits of car and debris. It was awesome! :-D
Out of interest @THEAETIK, where is the save data located? I've checked my hidden files and folders including some AppData folders but all I find is a 'Complex Control' folder with two empty .JPEGs (which cannot be opened). I ask because (i) I would like to reset my stats and (ii) because I may or may not want to be able to restore any particularly good Avatars I buy*.
*I know, this sort of undermines the challenge! But I'm really bummed when I lose a great Avatar. Hopefully you can help, if it's in the spirit of the game that is. :-D
Haha, yeah @THEAETIK I did eventually read the readme fully! Usually it's the first thing I do but I was tempted to just jump straight in. I am still learning how complex the systems are but I've discovered some useful tactics along the way. I felt really bummed out when my Avatar was destroyed but that's part of what makes it so addictive; I keep trying to do better each time. I'm genuinely amazed you did this solo and from what I read, your 'customer service' is great too. I look forward to what you may do with this next. Anyway, time to keep the madness from ending!
Edit: I re-read the readme about controls then moved the controls.txt file to the THEAETIK folder as instructed - custom keybinds now work. I am slowly beginning to understand the rules and the systems to my advantage. Wow, very addictive and very intense!
I think that this mod is truly fantastic - such attention to detail and so many complex systems! I look forward to trying the mod further; however, when I change the keys in the .txt file (the letters at the top of that document), the defaults still work rather than my new keybinds. I will try again in case I do something wrong. Overall, 5* work though - thank you @THEAETIK and kudos!
